Join staff members at the Lam Museum of Anthropology to learn about the fascinating and complex history of dot painting by the Aboriginal People of Australia. The discussion will examine the paintings’ symbolism and iconography, as well as the purposes, materials, and techniques used in these artworks. After exploring a variety of styles, participants will create their own dot painting inspired by what they’ve learned. This workshop is offered in conjunction with the exhibit Return to Sender? Aboriginal Cultural Heritage and Repatriation. This workshop is designed for adults and children ages 10 and up. The fee is $25 per participant ($20 for Lam Museum members). Space is limited and advanced registration is required. Register today!
