Mummy Casing
Artifacts–the objects humans make and use–are important sources for better understanding world history. Every person who ever lived has used objects, and their beliefs and ideas are preserved in the things they’ve left behind. By investigating these items, we can understand the history of the world beyond what was written down in books and inscribed on monuments. This exhibit displays artifacts from the ancient world that students in Wake Forest class History 103: World Civilizations to 1500 have selected from the Museum’s permanent collection to show how objects reflect the politics, religion, and environment of past societies.

You can now explore this exhibition online through our Virtual Exhibits.
