The Museum of Anthropology remains closed to the public indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  However, we want to provide the latest information about our operations to our valued patrons.

Although Wake Forest students have returned, the University campus will remain closed to outside visitors throughout the semester.  During this time, the Museum will still be accessible to Wake Forest students both online and in person for socially distanced internships, class projects, and student employment.

We are very excited to let you know that the Museum has officially moved to its new location in Palmer Hall.  We are currently working to unpack files, supplies, exhibit furniture, and our education room artifacts while the contractors finish their final tasks.  We will spend the next few weeks organizing these items and settling into our new space.  The next step will be to prepare our new collections storage space and then pack and move approximately 15,000 of our most frequently used artifacts to their new home in the Museum.  The Museum staff will undertake this work and anticipate it taking several months before the move is complete.  During this time of transition, we will also work on developing new exhibits to present to the public when the museum reopens.  Our online initiatives, started at the beginning of the pandemic, will also continue.

We hope to open to the public in January with the beginning of the spring semester.  However, we will not set an opening date at this time due to the possibility that our moving and unpacking activities could be interrupted by campus closures from a rapidly changing pandemic situation.  You can always find information about what we’ve been doing on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.  Please know that we are anxiously looking forward to a time when we can see you all again safely!
